Light a Candle to mark International Day to End Violence Against Women

Welsh Women’s Aid and BAWSO Women’s Aid invite you to:

“LIGHT A CANDLE”
– A multi-faith service at Llandaff Cathedral to mark International Day to End Violence Against Women (White Ribbon Day), 25th November 2010.


PROGRAMME:

12.00 Welcome Remarks (Canon Holcombe)
12.05 A Brief on Violence against Women (Paula Hardy, Chief
Executive, Welsh Women’s Aid)
12.10 Trafficking in Wales (Joyce Watson AM)
12.20 Experiences of Domestic Violence (Denise Puckett, DV Survivor &
Staff Officer for Domestic Abuse, Honour-Based Violence,
Stalking and Harassment – Gwent Police/Association of Chief
Police Officers)
12.30 Multi-faith prayers
12.45 Lighting of candles
12.55 Closing remarks (Canon Holcombe)
13.00 Close (retiring offering)

PRE-EVENT MARCH:
From BAWSO Women’s Aid to the Cathedral – all welcome – assemble outside BAWSO (9 Cathedral Road, Pontcanna) at 10.15am

POST-EVENT LUNCH:
Event will be followed by a lunch at BAWSO to raise money for women with no recourse to public funds – all welcome!
